Netto income = 10.000 € (2014)
Netto income = 12.000 € (2015)
Paul Vande Casteele, vice President of Hoge Akkersbloei vzw Brasschaat and active for years with the support of numerous social projects, organized on 14 June 2014 a great salsa night in the equestrian Hall from Brasschaat to the benefit of the latest project of Caluna vzw for deaf children in Senegal.
It was a night where music notes from the warm South not only increase the temperature in the room but also really warms the heart. The proceeds was donated to their youngest project, where Caluna offers education to Senegalese deaf children. Deaf in Senegal means being isolated, locked up in your own living environment intended to a lonely and limited life, often in the household of the family or a friend. The lack of essential knowledge and skills as counting, writing, reading, communicating, creativity ensures that the deaf children in addition to a hearing restriction also have difficulties on social, emotional and psychological level. However, each child, regardless of disabilities or not, has the right to equal education adapted to their personal development able to grow as an independent person in society.
